Ilona McGavock B.App.Sc,M.H.Sc.(Osteo)Memb.AOA

Ilona McGavock fully qualified Osteopath in FremantleIlona graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in 1996 and a Masters of Applied Science degree in Osteopathy from Victoria University of Technology in Melbourne in 1998. She has been practising Osteopathy for the past 12 years. Ilona is a member of the Fremantle Osteopathic Centre for Children, a peer study and support association for continuing education in Cranio-Sacral Osteopathy especially with regard to pregnancy, labour and newborn babies. Ilona is currently a sitting member of the Osteopaths Registration Board of WA and a member of the Australian Osteopathic Association (AOA).

Ilona’s earlier background ranges from obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, 1981 (UWA), to performing in children’s theatre, puppetry and music. In 1984, Ilona began her study of holistic health by training as an Iyengar Yoga Teacher and leading yoga classes in Sydney. Her interest in this field deepened on discovering Tibetan Buddhism in 1993. She has been practising meditation, yoga and contemplation from Tibetan Buddhist and Dzogchen lineages since that time. Over the past 4 years she has been practising Qigong.

Ilona uses a range of osteopathic techniques from cranial to structural. She views osteopathy as an intelligent way to observe and apply the laws of nature. This often brings relief to conditions both chronic and acute and facilitates a deep healing process within the client.
